Influence of in-store and out-of-store creative advertising strategies on consumer attitude and purchase intention Sameti, Ardalan; Khalili, Hamidreza Purpose: With regard to the fact that people usually try to avoid repetitive and boring advertisements, creativity as the heart of advertising effectiveness has a significant role in drawing their attention. On this basis, the present study attempts to evaluate the influence of creative advertising strategies by comparing “in-store” and “out-of-store” creative advertisements. Design/methodology: This research has been conducted in Tehran (capital of Iran) and 588 volunteers randomly participated in the survey so as to examine the consumers’ attitude/behaviour towards the advertised brand, advertised product, and purchases intention exposing creative in-store and out-of-store advertisements. In the current study, creative “endof- aisle display stands” in grocery stores/supermarkets represent in-store advertising media, and creative “TV commercials” represent out-of-store advertising. Furthermore to examine the hypotheses, one-sample t-test and paired sample t-test were used. Findings: The results show that creative out-of-store advertising has influence primarily on attitude towards the advertised brand, then on attitude towards the advertised product, and finally on the purchases intention. On the other hand, creative in-store advertising, firstly has influence on the purchase intention, then on attitude towards the advertised brand, and lastly on attitude towards the advertised product. The findings provide important insights to the formulation of strategic marketing/advertising and would pave the related innovative ways to capitalize on strategic opportunities. Originality/value: The study is the first survey comparing the effectiveness of in-store and out-of-store creative advertising in order to find out a strategic marketing/advertising solution.

The impact of personal interactions on the stress of school administrators: The validation and application of an assessment tool López Meneses, Eloy; Leiva Olivencia, Juan José; Vázquez Cano, Esteban Purpose: To analyze personal interactions as one of the possible factors that can generate greater stress in school administrators. For this purpose, we present the design, validation and application of a survey that intends to measure the type of managerial functions that are associated with higher rates of personal interaction and their possible measurement as stressors of those performing administrative functions. Design/methodology: To develop, validate and apply an assessment tool to measure the stress of school administrators. To this end, a mixed analysis methodology has been adopted, involving the selection of a group of experts, the calculation of an “expert proficiency coefficient” (Cabero & Barroso, 2013) and the subsequent validation of the survey using the modified Delphi method in two phases, with a sample of 30 school administrators and educational supervisors. The survey has also been subjected to a process to determine the trustworthiness and validity of the construct through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Findings: The result is a 5-dimension, 31-item survey with a total score of 155 points and three measurements: low stress (1-50 points), medium stress (51-100 points) and high stress (101-155 points).The areas that generate the greatest amount of stress can be summarized in two categories: reprimanding teachers for non-performance of their duties and discipline management at the center (expulsions, bullying, fighting and drugs). Research limitations/implications: The survey was designed according to the socioeducational characteristics of the Spanish context. Further research in other educational contexts would require an adaptation of different items on the scale. Practical implications: Measuring the school administrator’s stress makes it possible to identify those functions that are more susceptible to intervention, both formative and administrative. This improves one of the key areas of school organization. Social implications: The improvement of the school institution and its governance starts with identifying those aspects that require educational interventions, but also social ones that imply a reflection on how schools in the 21st century are managed and organized. Originality/value: There are no Spanish studies that propose assessment tools to measure the stress of school administrators; in this sense, this study provides a framework for the Spanish context.

Diseño de una máquina para el transporte y colocación de tuberías de gran diámetro en obras dentro de galerías Bajo Cortés, Carlos L’objectiu d’aquest projecte es el disseny d’una màquina de transport i col·locació de canonades de grans dimensions a l’interior de galeries, on no es possible l’entrada de grues estàndard, i sobre suports específics (ja donats). Per dur a terme el disseny de la màquina s’ha realitzat un estudi de la situació a la qual ha de treballar i els esforços a la que serà sotmesa. A més d’això, m’he documentat sobre situacions similar de la construcció. El disseny, un cop plantejat, ha sigut dissenyat amb una eina ja coneguda com es el SOLIDWORKS i s’ha sotmès a un estudi amb els seus complements, en especial amb SOLIDWORKS Simulation. A més de veure si resistia els esforços als quals s’ha de sotmetre en el pitjor del casos, he hagut de tenir en compte la normativa que ha de complir per a construccions en obra pública, considerant que finalment s’haurà de realitzar el marcat CE.

Análisis del papel y cartón procedentes del reciclaje para posible aplicación en edificaciones de República Dominicana Espinal Rodríguez, Lorena María El presente caso indagativo tiene como objeto de estudio el reciclaje del papel y el cartón, de manera específica en los materiales derivados de este proceso, así como las oportunidades de uso tanto económico y social en países como la República Dominicana. Las sociedades sin importar el lugar donde se desarrollan tienden a generar desperdicios que a partir de su reciclaje pueden llegar a ser muy útiles para crear nuevos productos que pueden llegar a ser arquitectura, de manera que la explotación del medio natural para generar materiales para la construcción puede parte verse alternado mediante la utilización de desechos y posibles transformaciones de los mismos. Desde un punto de vista subjetivo, es interesante ver la posibilidad de generar arquitectura a partir de materiales productos del reciclaje, es así como aportamos a la ciudad y a la sociedad gracias al consumo de residuos que pueden llegar a ser nocivos al entorno. La importancia de re-utilizar materiales que se desechan y convertirlos en nuevas propuestas plásticas no solo contribuye al mejoramiento del medio ambiente, sino que por medio de su exploración se logra transformar “algo inútil” en algo “útil”, innovando a la vez en diseños y formas expresivas con contenidos pedagógicos de gran impacto. El papel es un producto histórico, que en arquitectura ha tenido su importancia atendiendo a culturas y épocas específicas, debido a esto y a la tendencia mundial del reciclaje la acción explorativa que se ha utilizado revela la relación actual entre el papel reutilizado y el uso en edificaciones. El desarrollo del trabajo se ha optado por dividirlo en tres partes fundamentales, una primera que consta de la introducción, delimitación del tema, justificante y objetivos que definen el trabajo investigativo. En una segunda parte se genera un compendio debido a la búsqueda de información y compilación documental actual que proporciona los datos necesarios para comprender conceptos importantes íntimamente ligados al tema, la situación actual en cuanto a producción y reciclaje del papel, materiales que se derivan de ese proceso además de un análisis de la situación actual de las edificaciones en República Dominicana. La tercera viene dada por una deducción e interpretación de los datos recopilados en la primera parte, de forma que sirva de base para la propuesta, la cual constituye la parte tercera.; This research case study aims recycling paper and paperboard, specifically in materials derived from this process and opportunities for both economic and social use in countries like the Dominican Republic. Societies no matter where they develop tend to generate waste that from recycling can become very useful for creating new products that can become architecture so that the exploitation of the natural environment to generate building materials it can be alternated part using waste and possible transformations thereof. From a subjective point of view, it is interesting to see the possibility of generating architecture from materials recycling products, so as to bring the city and society through the use of waste that can become harmful to the environment. The importance of re-using materials that are discarded and turn them into new plastic proposals not only contributes to improving the environment, but through its exploration can transform "useless" something "useful", innovating both in designs and expressive forms with high impact educational content. The paper is a historical product, which architecture has been important in response to specific cultures and epochs, because of this and the global trend of recycling the inquiries action that has been used reveals the current relationship between the reused paper and use in buildings. The development of research has chosen to divide it into three main parts, the first consisting of the introduction, delimitation of the topic, justification and objectives defining the research work. In a second part a compendium because finding information and current documentary compilation that provides the data necessary to understand important concepts closely linked to the issue, the current situation in terms of production and paper recycling, materials derived is generated from that process and an analysis of the current situation of the buildings in the Dominican Republic. The third is given by a deduction and interpretation of data collected in the first part, so that the basis for the proposal, which is the third part. Study of manufacturing parameters in pieces obtained by FDM Otero Gonzàlez, Jordi En el present treball s’ha estudiat la fabricació aditiva (AM), especialmente la fabricada mitjançant la impresió 3D (FDM). El coneixement de la influencia dels diversos paràmetres de fabricació en el comportament mecànic de les peces és escàs i molt dispers. Aquesta falta de informació dificullta el proces de diseny de les peces fabricades mitjançant FDM. S’ha estudiat el efecte dels diversos paràmetres de fabricació en el comportament mecànic a fatiga, per peces fabricades en ABS per FDM. A partir de la información consultada en la bibliografía i les dades experimentals realizades en el assajos, s´han arribat a uns resultats que permeten predeir la vida a fatiga, per peces realizades sota uns paràmetres de fabricació determinats utilitzant tegnología FDM per la seva fabricació.

Measurement and simulation of summer thermal environment of an atrium enclosed with EFTE foil cushion roof Afrin, Sabrina This paper presents a study to investigate the summer thermal environment of an atrium enclosed with an ETFE cushion envelope using field measurement and simulation. Continuous monitoring was conducted from May 2014 to July 2014 covering sunny and overcast days and nights. Results of the study also examine general thermal performance of ETFE foil cushion envelopes. Measurements of the indoor thermal environmental parameters were conducted at different vertical levels and horizontal positions in the atrium and the recorded data represent the internal conditions with and without operation of the HVAC system, with variable occupancy. The effects of solar transmission, external ambient air temperatures, humidity and surface temperatures of the ETFE cushion on internal air temperatures, mean radiant temperatures and humidity at different levels of the atria are discussed. Impact of solar transmission, air temperature and humidity on user thermal comfort is also assessed. Results obtained from on-site monitoring are compared with those from a predictive model using the dynamic environmental simulation tool TAS. Result of the monitoring showed the following: • Relatively stable thermal conditions at ground floor level • Daytime accumulation of a reservoir of warm air immediately below the ETFE cushion with pronounced thermal stratification. • Negative stratification at upper levels of the atrium at night • Rapid change of external and internal ETFE-foil surface temperature according to solar insolation levels • High insolation and high ETFE surface temperature may adversely affect user thermal comfort in particular at higher levels of the atrium.

Estimation of thermal performance of pv-EFTE cushion roof Hu, J. H. ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) cushion roof integrated amorphous silicon photovoltaic (PV-ETFE cushion roof) is attractive as this roof could provide electricity for maintaining the shape of the ETFE cushion and make the building to be zero-energy. One of the essential factors for this cushion roof is the temperature which affects the system thermal performance. To investigate the temperature and velocity fields inside the PV-ETFE cushion, an experimental mock-up composed of a three-layer ETFE cushion and a-Si PV is developed and experiments for obtaining the temperatures of the cushion roof are carried out under summer sunny conditions. These experimental results could provide the boundary condition for the numerical simulation and for the numerical verification. In this paper, estimation of the temperature field inside the ETFE cushion is performed with the FLUENT and the numerical temperature is compared with the experimental air temperature obtained at the same location. The comparison shows that the maximum difference between the experimental and numerical temperature results is only 3.4 K, which means that the feasibility of the numerical simulation is validated. In detail, for the temperature distribution, it is found that the existence of the PV has a significant effect on the temperature field and that heat transfer mechanisms for the upper and lower chambers formed with the three ETFE layers are the convective and conduction, respectively. For the velocity distribution, the vertical velocity is much greater than the horizontal velocity due to the convective effect.

Resistencia mecánica de piezas fabricadas mediante FDM Puig Martínez, Daniel Actualment, la fabricació additiva (AM) no es limita només a prototips, sinó que també s’usa en la fabricació de peces finals que treballen sota condicions equivalents a les fabricades mitjançant les tecnologies tradicionals. La poca experiència acumulada i la falta de informació entorn les tecnologies de AM dificulten els processos de disseny. En aquest treball s’ha tractat la tecnologia de fabricació additiva Fused deposition Modeling (FDM) per a peces d’ús final. FDM es una de les tecnologies de AM més complexes, per la quantitat de paràmetres que s’han de tenir en compte. El coneixement de la influencia dels diferents paràmetres de fabricació en el comportament mecànic de les peces fabricades mitjançant FDM es escàs. És per això que s’ha estudiat l’efecte de diferents paràmetres de fabricació en el comportament mecànic de les peces fabricades mitjançant FDM, sotmeses a càrregues dinàmiques. Aquests paràmetres son: altura de capa ample del fil, velocitat d’impressió, tipus de patró del farciment de la peça i densitat del farciment. Els experiments realitzats permeten conèixer la influencia i la millor combinació de paràmetres de fabricació per a peces de FDM que treballin sota càrregues dinàmiques.

This has been compiled taking into account the data, information and statistics about the global aging population which will have a growth of 11% to 22% data between 2000 and 2050. In exact numbers, it will rise from 605 million to 2 billion over the course of half a century. Given this information it is necessary to know the requirements and to have a clear and accurate guide that show us how the building elements should be analyzed: facings, flooring and ceilings, also the environmental requirements, as: the acoustic, the climate and the lighting and at the same time understand how the technology is and will continue to influence to make them more acceptable to the needs of this particular group of human beings with exact and specific needs such as the elderly.; Este proyecto de Fin de Máster es una recopilación de datos, parámetros y recomendaciones acerca de los requisitos necesarios para que una residencia asistida posea el confort requerido , tomando en cuenta los datos, informaciones y estadísticas acerca de la población mundial de envejecientes la cual va a tener un crecimiento de un 11% a un 22% datos entre el 2000 y 2050. En cifras exactas estamos haciendo referencia de que pasará de 605 millones a 2000 millones en el transcurso de medio siglo. Teniendo en cuenta esta información es necesario conocer los requerimientos y poder tener una guía clara y precisa que nos muestre cómo deberían ser los elementos de construcción analizados: paramentos, pavimentos y techos, así mismo los requerimientos ambientales estudiados siendo estos: acústica, clima e iluminación y a la vez ver de qué forma la tecnología está y seguirá influenciando en ellos para hacerlos más aceptos a las necesidades de este determinado grupo de seres humanos con necesidades tan exactas y especificas como son los envejecientes.

Results indicate that this technique is effective at controlling the drying process of raw earthen materials. Near the hygrometric equilibrium, there is a linear relationship between the moisture content of the earthen material and the ultrasound transmission speed, which increases during the drying process. For the tested compressed earth, the hygrometric equilibrium is reached when the ultrasound transmission speed is over 1100 m/s. In addition, ultrasound transmission method is useful to reliably calculate the dynamic Young's modulus of raw earthen materials. © 2017. La iluminación artificial del espacio interior: parámetros para un diseño emocional Ramon Pujols, Carlos Jael Esta investigación estudia la relación existente entre los sistemas de iluminación y la percepción emocional del usuario en el espacio interior. Mediante la recopilación de 29 estudios en condiciones reales se generó un análisis compuesto por seis etapas que permitió comparar los resultados y obtener una lista de diez emociones junto con los parámetros lumínicos que debe presentar el espacio para lograr evocar dichas emociones. Se seleccionaron 29 espacios interiores en los que se pudo constatar que la gran mayoría de parámetros lumínicos correspondientes a las distintas valoraciones emocionales sí estaban presentes. Finalmente, se realizó un estudio experimental a modo de encuesta empleando dos modalidades, una directa con 30 participantes y otra indirecta con 272 participantes; los resultados evidencian que la iluminación artificial es un recurso que puede emplearse lingüísticamente y se propone un gráfico que hemos designado “Diagrama emocional de iluminación” donde se expresa la relación luz-emociones y cuya finalidad es permitir generar propuestas lumínicas claramente enfocadas a obtener el predominio de una emoción determinada.

Design and implementation of testbed using IoT and P2P technologies: improving reliability by a fuzzy-based approach Liu, Yi; Yamada, Masafumi; Oda, Tetsuya; Matsuo, Keita; Barolli, Leonard; Xhafa Xhafa, Fatos The internet of things (IoT) is a new type of internet application which enables the objects to be active participants with other members of the network. In P2P systems, each peer has to obtain information of other peers and propagate the information through neighbouring peers. However, in reality, each peer might be faulty or might send incorrect information. In our previous work, we implemented a P2P platform called JXTA-overlay, which provides a set of basic functionalities, primitives, intended to be as complete as possible to satisfy the needs of most JXTA-based applications. In this paper, we present the implementation of a testbed using IoT and P2P technologies. We also present two fuzzy-based systems (FPRS1 and FPRS2) to improve the reliability of the proposed approach. Comparing the complexity of FPRS1 and FPRS2, the FPRS2 is more complex than FPRS1. However, FPRS2 makes the platform more reliable.

We prove that when the collinear bodies form an Euler central configuration of the three-body problem with (Formula presented.), there exists a new family, missed by Gidea and Llibre (Celest Mech Dyn Astron 106:89–107, 2010), of stacked five-body central configuration where the segments (Formula presented.) and (Formula presented.) do not intersect. Geosynchronous inclined orbits for high-latitude communications Fantino, Elena; Flores Le Roux, Roberto Maurice; Di Carlo, Marilena; Di Salvo, Alessio; Cabot Soler, Elisenda We present and discuss a solution to the growing demand for satellite telecommunication coverage in the high-latitude geographical regions (beyond 55°N), where the signal from geostationary satellites is limited or unavailable. We focus on the dynamical issues associated to the design, the coverage, the maintenance and the disposal of a set of orbits selected for the purpose. Specifically, we identify a group of highly inclined, moderately eccentric geosynchronous orbits derived from the Tundra orbit (geosynchronous, eccentric and critically inclined). Continuous coverage can be guaranteed by a constellation of three satellites in equally spaced planes and suitably phased. By means of a high-precision model of the terrestrial gravity field and the relevant environmental perturbations, we study the evolution of these orbits. The effects of the different perturbations on the ground track (which is more important for coverage than the orbital elements themselves) are isolated and analyzed. The physical model and the numerical setup are optimized with respect to computing time and accuracy. We show that, in order to maintain the ground track unchanged, the key parameters are the orbital period and the argument of perigee. Furthermore, corrections to the right ascension of the ascending node are needed in order to preserve the relative orientation of the orbital planes. A station-keeping strategy that minimizes propellant consumption is then devised, and comparisons are made between the cost of a solution based on impulsive maneuvers and one with continuous thrust. Architecture for object-oriented programming model Markovic, Nikola; González, Rubén; Unsal, Osman Sabri; Valero Cortés, Mateo; Cristal Kestelman, Adrián Current mainstream architectures have ISAs that are not able to maintain all the information provided by the application programmer using a high level programming language. Typically, the information that is lost in compiling to a low-level ISA is related to parallelism and speculation [14]. For example some loops are typically expressed as parallel loops by the programmer but later the processor is not able to determine this level of parallelism; conditional execution might apply control independent execution that at execution time is basically impossible to detect; function and object-level parallelism is lost when code is transformed into a low-level ISA that is oblivious to programmer intentions and high-level programming structures. Object Oriented Programming Languages are arguably the most successful programming medium because they help the programmer to use well-known practices about data distribution through operations related with the associated data. Therefore object oriented models express data/execution locality more naturally and in an efficient manner. Other OO software mechanisms such as derivation and polymorphism further help the programmer to exploit locality better. Once object oriented programs have been compiled then all information about data/execution locality is completely lost in current assembly code (ISA code). Maintaining this information until runtime is crucial to improve locality and security. Finally, Object Oriented Programming Models maintain the idea of memory (data memory) far from the programmer. These are all desirable qualities that is mostly lost in the compilation to a low-level ISA that is oblivious to the Object-Oriented Programming model. This report considers implementing the Object Oriented (OO) Programming Model directly in the hardware to serve as a base to exploit object/level parallelism, speculation and heterogeneous computing. Towards this goal, we present new computer architecture that implements the OO Programming Models. All its hardware structures are objects and its Instruction Set directly utilizes objects hiding totally the notion of memory and other complex hardware structures. It also maintains all high-level programming language information until execution time. This enables efficient extraction of available parallelism in OO serial or parallel code at execution time with minimal compiler support. We will demonstrate the potential of this novel computer architecture through several examples.

A two-resonance tapping cavity for an optimal light trapping in thin-film solar cells Liu, Quan; Romero Gómez, Pablo; Mantilla Perez, Paola; Colodrero, Silvia; Toudert, Johann; Martorell Pena, Jordi An optimal photon absorption in thin film photovoltaic technologies can only be reached by effectively trapping the light in the absorber layer provided a considerable portion of the photons is rejected or scattered out of such layer. Here, a new optical cavity is proposed that can be made to have a resonant character at two different nonharmonic frequencies when adjusting the materials or geometry configurations of the partially transmitting cavity layers. Specific configurations are found where a reminiscence of such two fundamental resonances coexists leading to a broadband light trapping. When a PTB7-Th:PC71BM organic cell is integrated within such cavity, a power conversion efficiency of 11.1% is measured. This study also demonstrates that when materials alternative to organics are used in the photoactive cell layer, a similar cavity can be implemented to also obtain the largest light absorption possible. Indeed, when it is applied to perovskite cells, an external quantum efficiency is predicted that closely matches its corresponding internal one for a broad wavelength range.
