Desenvolupament d'una eina de suport a la presa de decisions per a l'assignatura d'Organització i Gestió. Sisquella Andrés, Joan L’objectiu d’aquest projecte és desenvolupar una aplicació informàtica per a la realització d’un treball per grups a l’assignatura d’Organització i Gestió, amb l’objectiu que l’estudiant posi en pràctica els seus coneixements amb una metodologia innovadora i participativa. En la primera meitat del document es defineixen i s’expliquen breument els conceptes d’organització i d’informàtica que han estat necessaris per realitzar l’aplicació informàtica. També s’expliquen altres projectes similars, l’esperit dels quals, la innovació en els mètodes de docència, ha servit d’inspiració i motivació durant el desenvolupament del treball. En la segona part de la memòria s’explica el projecte en sí: la programació que ha estat necessària per crear la pàgina web, el funcionament dels programes de càlcul i les pautes que hauran de seguir els futurs estudiants per realitzar el treball. A més a més, al final de la memòria es calculen els costos econòmics i l’impacte ambiental que aquest projecte ha portat associat. L’aplicació s’ha desenvolupat fins a un cert punt, en projectes posteriors caldrà fer més parts per tal de fer una aplicació informàtica completa que permeti l’avaluació de tot el temari amb l’objectiu de poder posar en marxa la web en un futur proper.

J.; Tamarit Mur, José Luis The low-temperature thermal and transport properties of an unusual kind of crystal exhibiting minimal molecular positional and tilting disorder have been measured. The material, namely, low-dimensional, highly anisotropic pentachloronitrobenzene has a layered structure of rhombohedral parallel planes in which the molecules execute large-amplitude in-plane as well as concurrent out-of-plane librational motions. Our study reveals that low-temperature glassy anomalies can be found in a system with minimal disorder due to the freezing of (mostly in-plane) reorientational jumps of molecules between equivalent crystallographic positions with partial site occupation. Our findings will pave the way to a deeper understanding of the origin of the above-mentioned universal glassy properties at low temperature.

The dressing process was modeled with density matrix equations which are found to describe very accurately both the experimentally observed transmission dynamics and the linear and nonlinear dressing oscillations at 0.75 PHz and 1.5 PHz frequencies. Furthermore, using Fourier transform XUV spectroscopy, quantum beats from the 3d5/2-3d3/2 and 3p3/2-3p1/2 sublevels at 0.3 PHz and 2.0 PHz were experimentally identified and resolved. © 2017 Optical Society of America. Diagnóstico, análisis y propuestas sobre el transporte público del Área Metropolitana de Monterrey Carrancá Palomo, Humberto La realización de dicho documento está justificado a causa de la congestión y saturación vial que se ha incrementado paulatinamente en el área metropolitana de Monterrey. Esto en conjunto con la búsqueda actual del mejoramiento ambiental, la implementación de la movilidad como parte de los asentamientos humanos y una clara deficiencia del transporte público del AMM conlleva a generar propuestas para generar valor al transporte público. La tesis está diseñada en seis capítulos: introducción, marco teórico y estado de arte, maro jurídico del estado de nuevo león, diagnóstico y análisis del transporte público en el AMM, propuestas y conclusión. En la introducción se establece la justificación, las preguntas de investigación, los objetivos específicos y generales y la metodología que se llevó para la realización de dicho trabajo. La metodología que se siguió para la realización del documento académico fue: como primer paso establecer las preguntas de investigación y los objetivos a alcanzar. Las preguntas de investigación son: ¿Cuál es el marco jurídico que rige a Nuevo León y que potencialidades tiene en el marco metropolitano?; ¿Cuáles son las carencias en infraestructura y gestión del transporte actuales del AMM?; ¿Qué herramientas de desarrollo y financieras tiene el estado de N.L. y sus municipios?; y ¿Cuáles son las mejoras que se le puede dar a la gestión del sistema de transporte público en el AMM? Para poder contestar estas preguntas se tuvieron los siguientes objetivos específicos: Describir el marco jurídico que recae en el transporte y la movilidad de N.L.; examinar la distribución demográfica y vehicular, la partición modal y la geografía de flujos del AMM; describir la organización del transporte público del AMM; evaluar la problemática actual del AMM en tema de transporte y movilidad; describir la estructura de financiamiento de Nuevo León en temas de transporte y movilidad; y aportar propuestas de solución a las problemáticas evaluadas. En el marco teórico y estado de arte se describe al transporte, la movilidad, las autoridades metropolitanas de transporte, análisis de Barcelona al ser pertinente en la generación de las propuestas (por ser la ubicación de la realización del máster), la descripción de los tres trabajos que analizaron al ATM de Barcelona y lo compararon con tres casos de estudio y la descripción de un trabajo de la ITDP sobre las herramientas en México para un DOT. En el marco jurídico se describen las leyes pertinentes al desarrollo urbano, movilidad y transporte que están adjudicadas al estado de Nuevo León para poder así evaluar su posicionamiento jurídico actual. Estas se describen en cuatro niveles: federal, estatal, metropolitano y municipal. En el diagnóstico y análisis del transporte público se habla sobre la demografía poblacional y vehicular, la organización actual del, la saturación vial, la partición modal, la geografía de flujos y las herramientas de financiamiento; la información analizada está adjudicada solamente en el espacio geográfico del AMM. Las propuestas están desarrolladas en tres partes: modificaciones a la red de transporte, generación de un organismo metropolitano con competencias sobre el transporte público y actuaciones sobre el centro metropolitano del AMM. Para finalizar se hicieron las respectivas conclusiones del documento académico en el cual se indica los puntos más importantes de los capítulos, así como las conclusiones propias del autor. The maritime transport is responsible for polluting the atmosphere and the forecast of new scenarios about the shipping emissions predicts an increase between 50% and 250% by 2050, depending on future economic and energy development. The Industry has taken steps to reduce its Air Pollution and Carbon footprint. IMO introduced several new regulations such as the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP), Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), & Energy Efficiency Operational Index (EEOI), while the MARPOL Convention new regulations have imposed strict emissions caps in emission control areas. Ship owners have reacted to fulfill these requirements meeting the future environmental requirements set for 2025. Maritime Energy Management Specification (MariEMS) is an industry-academia collaboration project funded by the EU under the Erasmus+ programme. The project started in October 2015 and the duration is 30 months. The purpose of this Partnership is the development of an energy management training strategy and specification, and the development and implementation of an online learning and assessment system for the proposed training programme so that current cadets, as well as existing seafarers, can up-skill themselves to the new regulatory requirements and good practice. The paper presentation includes the handouts of the proposed methodology for developing specification and training content for the programme for the ship energy management as well as a demonstration of the MariEMS online e-learning platform.

In recent years, centrality measures have attracted the attention of many researchers, generating a large and varied number of new studies about social network analysis and its applications. However, as far as we know, traditional models of influence spread have not yet been exhaustively used to define centrality measures according to the influence criteria. Most of the considered work in this topic is based on the independent cascade model. In this paper we explore the possibilities of the linear threshold model for the definition of centrality measures to be used on weighted and labeled social networks. We propose a new centrality measure to rank the users of the network, the Linear Threshold Rank (LTR), and a centralization measure to determine to what extent the entire network has a centralized structure, the Linear Threshold Centralization (LTC). We appraise the viability of the approach through several case studies. We consider four different social networks to compare our new measures with two centrality measures based on relevance criteria and another centrality measure based on the independent cascade model. Our results show that our measures are useful for ranking actors and networks in a distinguishable way.

Although phosphorylated a-synuclein is believed to exert toxic effects at the synapse in dementia with Lewy bodies and other a-synucleinopathies, direct evidence for the precise synaptic localization has been difficult to achieve due to the lack of adequate optical microscopic resolution to study human synapses. In the present study we applied array tomography, a microscopy technique that combines ultrathin sectioning of tissue with immunofluorescence allowing precise identification of small structures, to quantitatively investigate the synaptic phosphorylated a-synuclein pathology in dementia with Lewy bodies. We performed array tomography on human brain samples from five patients with dementia with Lewy bodies, five patients with Alzheimer’s disease and five healthy control subjects to analyse the presence of phosphorylated a-synuclein immunoreactivity at the synapse and their relationship with synapse size. Main analyses were performed in blocks from cingulate cortex and confirmed in blocks from the striatum of cases with dementia with Lewy bodies. A total of 1 318 700 single pre- or post-synaptic terminals were analysed. We found that phosphorylated a-synuclein is present exclusively in dementia with Lewy bodies cases, where it can be identified in the form of Lewy bodies, Lewy neurites and small aggregates (50.16 mm3). Between 19% and 25% of phosphorylated a-synuclein deposits were found in presynaptic terminals mainly in the form of small aggregates. Synaptic terminals that co-localized with small aggregates of phosphorylated a-synuclein were significantly larger than those that did not. Finally, a gradient of phosphorylated a-synuclein aggregation in synapses (pre4pre + post4post-synaptic) was observed. These results indicate that phosphorylated a-synuclein is found at the presynaptic terminals of dementia with Lewy bodies cases mainly in the form of small phosphorylated a-synuclein aggregates that are associated with changes in synaptic morphology. Overall, our data support the notion that pathological phosphorylated a-synuclein may disrupt the structure and function of the synapse in dementia with Lewy bodies.

In previous work the possibility to drive a thermosyphon by difference of densities from induced salinity gradients from evaporation at solar collectors with downward heat transfer was assessed. Nevertheless it was concluded that large evaporative areas or dilution with volatile compounds was mandatory. In this work it is shown that by taking advantage of the energy released during the spontaneous mixing of the low-concentration evaporative fraction and the high-salinity of the no-evaporated fraction which is generally referred as pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO) process, then the thermosyphon can runs with downward heat transfer (hot fluid flows down and cold fluid rises up) and using an evaporative surface area much more smaller and then eliminating the need for dilution with high volatile compounds. © 2017. Monitoring of an external prestressing used as a strengthening technique in a historical masonry steeple Llorens, Miquel; Señís López, Roger; Moreno, Benjamí; Pavón García, Susana The Sacred Heart Church of Vistabella (La Secuita, Spain) was designed by Josep Maria Jujol and built in the early twenties of the XX century. The slenderness of its steeple makes it extremely exposed to wind action, to the extent that its stability has been threatened since the construction started. At the end of 1934, the upper spire crumbled away, being rebuilt and reinforced with steel passive bars. After some numerical approaches, it became clear that the lightness of such a masonry construction along with the feebleness of the connections between the structural members were at the basis of the problem. In order to provide additional vertical load without substantively modifying the structural scheme, a solution based on external prestressed bars, was implemented. The bars replace the existing passive bars, which have proven to be totally useless. The active system proposed allows to eliminate the masonry’s tensile stresses under the action of the wind. The additional loading to be applied varies depending on the level (three levels in total), according to the gradual post-tensioning system proposed as a strengthening technique of the steeple. Therefore, it has been necessary to design a procedure able to introduce independent tensions at the different levels throughout the same tie and the corresponding monitoring system to control the tensioning process during the implementation. The procedure, the theory that supports it, and the results of the follow-up are described in detail, these being the objective of the paper.
